Accessorising your wardrobe for winter is something that you do with the simplest and smallest of items. Hats, gloves, scarves, mittens, and earmuffs can all play a part in your overall look. Starting with a pair of jeans and a sweater is only the beginning of a great winter look.

You want to match and combine colours as much as you possibly can. No one wants to wear a black sweater with black jeans, a black hat and black gloves. Use your outfit as the canvas on which you would place the accessories that you have chosen.

For example, neutral colours in your clothing call for a fantastic coat in a vibrant pink, red, orange, or yellow. The most striking of all ensembles features a jacket that grabs the attention of everyone around you.

Your scarf can also make a statement about your personality. Taking our theoretical look, we have a black sweater and jeans. Over that we have placed a fabulous orange trench coat or rain coat. Tie off the strap on the rain coat to keep the ensemble from looking formless. Everyone wants to see that there is a person under that jacket. Wrapping a scarf around your neck in a complimentary blue brings life to your face and offsets the colour in the jacket.

You can even take this a step farther and wear a scarf that features a pattern in many blues. You do not have to wear only solid colours. Perhaps your orange coat is tweed and your blue scarf is solid?

Everyone should keep a hat on their head in the dead of winter to keep as much bodily warmth as possible. Matching the coat to your look in very important. There are many different style of hat from a fedora to a simple knit cap. The cap should work with either your coat or scarf. Matching to one or the other keeps the colours in your look uniform and stylish.

Completing the look with a wonderful pair of gloves or mittens is merely the icing on the cake. You could wear just about any glove or mitten that matches up with a little bit of the colour in your look. Don't be afraid to pick a colour that is hardly present in another accessory you are wearing.

The accessories you wear for winter are the best places to introduce wonderful colouring and style into your winter wardrobe. You don't have to do anything but through on a pair of jeans and a sweater to get started. After that, the sky is the limit when it comes to accessorising your look on a daily basis. Wear something remarkable to the office or out on the town that everyone will remember.
